FAQs

How long can I expect to come to therapy?

There is no definitive answer to this question. Though it's safe to say more than a session or two is necessary to make any headway on what brings someone in, some individuals find a few sessions are sufficient, while others choose to continue long-term (over 20 sessions). There isn't necessarily a single answer, but during an intake session I can give you a more personalized estimate.

How much is it per session if i use my insurance?

Because each persons’ plan is very different I cannot give you an estimate without knowing the specifics of your plan. If we move forward my billing company provides you an estimated cost before your first session. The fastest way to get exact information about your benefits is to call your insurance company an ask.

If you bill my insurance can therapy still be private?

No, therapy is not as private when you use insurance because your insurance company will have access to your diagnosis, treatment plan, and progress notes in order to process claims, which means your mental health information is not completely confidential between you and your therapist; some people choose to pay out-of-pocket for more privacy in therapy.

Does therapy work?

Yes! I’m highly trained and treat many mental health conditions.

Numerous research findings show that therapy is very effective in reducing psychological distress. In fact, studies show that 80% of people who seek treatment find it helpful.

do you have in personal available?

Currently I am offering virtual only services.

Why do online therapy?

Because I specialize in providing exposure therapy it’s important to offer virtual session which allow me to help treat your fears in a variety of environments that simply cannot be treated well and efficiently in person.

If your triggers are mainly at your house for example, having a therapist travel to you to work on this would be costly and difficult to find.

I do sessions in restaurants, parks, schools, homes, peoples jobs and more because that is where their triggers tend to be. I want to be there with you as you’re facing your fears, and virtual allows this.
